Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse JNB Review
I was able to enter this lounge because I am an American Express Platinum Cardholder. The Virgin Atlantic lounges are part of the Plaza Premium lounge collection, which is one of the six collections of lounges that you can access if you are an American Express Platinum Cardholder. Check out my post on The Ultimate Airport Lounge Guide.
This lounge features one large seating area with comfortable chairs and couches and a bar area. There also was an upstairs area with additional seating that I didn’t get a chance to check out. This lounge is definitely one of the smaller lounges I have been to but it is one of the nicer ones, compared to some of the lounges in the US. One one the day I was there, there were only a handful of people in the lounge and the bartender said usually they are at full capacity.
What sets this lounge apart from the rest of the lounges is their food and drink menu. Most lounges have cheese, crackers, soups, salads and other snacks but this lounge is a full service restaurant featuring appetizers, full plates, desserts and a full drink menu. I’m glad I decided to eat here because the food they served on the plane on the way home wasn’t very good.
If you have an American Express Platinum Card and you have some time before your flight in Johannesburg, I recommend checking out the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. There are also other Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse locations, including in New York at JFK in Terminal 4 which I plan on checking out in September on the way to Milan. Coming soon check out my review of the brand new 30,000 Sq Ft United Club at Newark Airport.
